Autoimmune Disease:
A Holistic & Empowering Approach

SuzeRetera_WC_Merlot_A.png

A Training adressing the Symptoms, Causes, and Treatments of Autoimmunity based on a Holistic Approach.

Autoimmune diseases come in many shapes and forms and are becoming increasingly common. Often causing vague symptoms like fatigue, digestive issues, brain fog, hormonal imbalances, hair loss, depression, and anxiety, they often go undiagnosed for years. Leaving patients feeling frustrated, unheard, and more importantly, untreated.

The immune system is a very intelligent system. It is complex and closely intertwined with other systems in the body like the digestive- and hormonal systems. In this way, autoimmune issues not only impact the immune system and the tissue targeted by the autoimmune response but the entire person: the body and the psyche.

In this training, we will have a closer look at how all these systems come into play. In the creation of the autoimmune issue, the manifestation and progression of it, but also in the treatment. We will integrate this knowledge into a holistic approach that leads to the best health and quality of life possible.

This training will be offered in English only and is open to Yoga therapists (in training), therapists, yoga teachers, health practitioners, and those personally dealing with autoimmune issues.

In this course I combine my knowledge as a Psychologist, trauma therapist,  and Orthomolecular advisor with my personal experience finding balance and optimal health with Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism. The body always tells a story about your life experiences and how you adapted in order to deal with them. Taking that story into account, is the key to creating a personal treatment plan that not only heal, but also gives you back your power and connection to your self.

The Program

In this module, Suze Retera will discuss some of the more common autoimmune diseases with a focus on Hashimoto’s and Graves, but also Crohn’s Disease, Diabetes, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. She will offer a broader perspective that goes beyond the management of the symptoms.

You will gain a deeper understanding of the functioning of the immune system, the imbalances behind autoimmunity, and the holistic, science-based approach that supports healing.

Besides theory, you will learn a variety of practices related to yoga therapy, lifestyle, diet, and supplementation that can be used in combination with regular healthcare to support autoimmune diseases. You will learn how to offer your client, or yourself, the empowering insights and practices that support them on their journey towards optimal physical and mental health.
